Months after accepting bitcoin as it country’s legal tender and recognised means of making payments, El Salvador and it’s government have surprisingly installed over two hundred automated Teller Machines(ATM) in the country which permits them(Salvadorians) to perform Bitcoin related service on them.
The country is said to have installed these numbers of ATMs successfully in the country and as such, this move have ranked them as the third country in the world with the highest number of installed Bitcoin programmed Machines just behind the United states and Canada.
In a statement released by Coin ATM Radar, the installations of these numbers of ATMs by El Salvador, takes them above the United Kingdom in the country’s with the most number of machines which can be used to perform Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency transactions.
With the president of the country being at the forefront of this crypto adoption movement for the country, they have gone ahead to install a total number of 205 ATMs in just September alone despite receiving so many backlash both from oppositing parties and some section of the country. The Move which sees the country become the owner of over 60% crypto based machine in the South American continent.
These installations of the device have been made possible as a result of the partnership in which the country went into with CHIVO. CHIVO is a cryptocurrency based Company which profers crypto related services and Installs Crypto machines generally.
We are watching and on the lookout to see how bitcoin adoption as a means of payment or transaction by the country will finally cement its’ place and become a thing in which everyone and anyone in the country who have businesses there, relates to. According to the president’s directive, “Every business owners are expected to start accepting bitcoin as a means of payment or services,”
